On May 16, 1981, Norman Phillips purchased the first of many trucks that would come to be Norm’s Tow Service. Later that year, Hiram Phillips, Norman’s father, came on board as a member and continued to be active in the company for over 25 years. In 1982, Norman moved the company from Dublin to Livermore, where the company has remained. Our mission is to provide service to Northern California, specializing in Heavy Duty, Police Agency Work, and Specialized Towing.
As a way to serve both the community and the towing industry, Norman has dedicated his time to make a difference. Norman has been an active participant in the “Every 15 Minutes” drunk driving education program, working closely with the Livermore Police Department providing vehicles for the scenarios, and setting up and removing the accident scenes. Norman also holds a position on the state board of directors for the California Tow Truck Association, as well as a member of the Towing Regulatory Oversight Council.
Today, Norman and his wife Robyn manage the day to day operations from the office located on Shannon Court in Livermore, with 6 trucks and 4 employees. Rather than striving to expand the fleet and employees, Norm’s Tow Service has chosen to remain small in an attempt to provide high quality specialty services to our customers. Norm’s Tow Service looks forward to many more years of serving the community with excellent customer service and superior towing services.
